About Genesis Biosystems

Genesis Biosystems is based in the Dallas, Texas area. The company was founded in 2001, by Jim Lafferty, CEO and Dr. Stephen A. Schendel , M.D., D.D.S., Professor Emeritus of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Stanford University Medical Center, who serves as the company’s Medical Director.

Mr. Lafferty was an original founder of OsteoMed Corporation of Dallas, Texas. After OsteoMed was acquired, Jim transitioned to the aesthetic market by founding Genesis Biosystems. In March of 2001, Genesis Biosystems acquired, Derma Genesis, Inc. of Laguna Hills, CA., the global leader in microdermabrasion instrumentation. The company is FDA registered and is an ISO 13485:2003 certified manufacturer with all products carrying the CE mark for export.

Genesis Biosystems continues to manufacture market leading microdermabrasion systems and has developed other innovative devices for the medical and surgical markets. Today the company is focused in two specific areas; the surgical Fat Grafting market and the non-invasive skin rejuvenation market.
